“There were no needy persons among them. From time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales, and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.”
The Church of South Texas is a small, Christ-centered community dedicated to living out the teachings of Jesus without compromise.
Our mission is to glorify God, support one another in faith and tribulation, and maintain the aspect of service required of all of Christ's followers. All of this is conducted while remaining steadfast in the truth of Scripture and creating an open environment where all members grow in the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
“Jesus called them together and said, ‘You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.’”
Below is a list of the Scripturally-based tenets that comprise the Church, our mission, and the foundations of how we conduct ourselves and hold one another accountable.

“If there are poor among you, in one of the towns of the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not be selfish or greedy [harden your heart or shut your hand] toward them [your poor brother]. Instead, be ·generous [openhanded] and lend them what they need. Be careful! Don’t ·think [say in your heart], ‘The seventh year is near, the year to ·cancel what people owe [remit debts].’ You might be mean and not give any money to the poor, and they might ·complain [cry out] to the Lord about you, and he will find you guilty of sin. Give freely to the poor, and do not wish that you didn’t have to give. The Lord your God will bless your work and ·everything you touch [in all your undertakings]. There will always be poor people in the land, so I command you to ·give freely [open your hand] to your neighbors and to the poor and needy in your land.”
If you leave a normal Church service feeling a bit empty or like you need something of a bit more substance, then we invite you to become part of our growing community and engage in Christ the way He desires us to.
